Yearbook
Being the Editor-in-Chief of both the newspaper and the yearbook can be stressful at times but it allows me to create some really amazing products along the way. All designs shown are featured in The Panther Yearbook.
Translucent
Above is the first page that I had ever designed for the yearbook during my sophomore year.
It was pretty intimidating when my editors asked my shy little sophomore self to create a page where I had complete freedom to design it however I wanted.
It was pretty challenging at first, because I was new to using Indesign and barely knew how to make a text box let alone an entire page, but by the time I was done I had not only grown as a designer, but I had grown into a more confident individual.
I am so thankful to have been assigned to this page because it really sparked my passion for design and pushed me to create even more unique designs in the future.

I may not have designed the layout for this page, but all of the photography and writing was done completely on my own. When I joined Yearbook my sophomore year I had no idea how hard it was to get THE shot. The shot that gives you chills when you look at it. The shot that leaves students in awe. I went to dozens of competitions and practices. I took hundreds and hundreds of photos searching for the ones that would make my page look the best. This was the first sports page I had ever designed for The Panther and it taught me that photography is not as easy as everyone thinks it is. It takes so much time, energy and dedication to get THE shot and in the end I think the results were well worth all the time put into it.
No Boundaries
Theme Development This past summer I was able to work on developing the theme of our yearbook and creating the designs for the opening pages. My fellow editors and I worked hard over the summer, so that when we got to school on the first day we could hit the ground running. While our peers soaked up the sun we spent hours in a freezing cold cafeteria to make sure that our theme was rock solid and that we had an idea of what we wanted the book to look like. It is kind of surreal to see that the master pages turned out how we envisioned them, making our dreams a reality.
